Fight Nausea with Ginger

If you are going through chemo or radiation, you may be nauseous. This nausea can ruin your day. Researchers have found that ginger capsules taken in conjunction with traditional anti-nausea medication can keep this pesky symptom away. It appears the anti-nausea medication alone does not provide relief to 45% of fighters so this may be a helpful tool to speak to your medical team about.

The studies show ginger also aids digestion and reduces inflammation as reported by Cancer Today magazine Fall 2024. This is good news for active patients. It gives options for relief and can make the journey more bearable. Ginger comes fresh, capsule, and in the form of tea. You have nothing to lose by asking your medical team if this is an option for you and how much you should consume.

The better you feel the better you heal.

Welcome to Melanin & Pink Ribbons: A Blog for Black Women Fighting and Surviving Breast Cancer. It was born out of my personal journey as a patient not seeing very many images of women who looked like me fighting this disease. So, when I became a survivor, I did something about it. This is a space to learn and become empowered with information so we as a community can thrive into survivorship.
