A Survivors Cocktail

In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, I am sharing an original recipe created by Mixologist and Bartender extraordinaire Mr. Gligorov Agenor. He commonly goes by Gio and he created this beverage as a way to honor those touched by breast cancer whether they be an active patient or survivor. He has developed two versions of the pink hued potion and I hope you select the one that suits your tastebuds and raise your glass to all Black women fighting and surviving breast cancer!

PINKISS (nonalcoholic version)

1oz Orange Juice

1oz Pineapple Juice

1oz Coconut Cream

0.5oz Cherry Juice

0.5oz DaVinci Vanilla

Mix and serve with a wedge of an orange over ice.

PINKISS (alcoholic version)

1oz Coconut Rum

1oz Gin

1oz Pina Colada Puree

0.5oz Cherry Juice

0.5oz DaVinci Vanilla

Mix and serve with a wedge of an orange over ice.

Welcome to Melanin & Pink Ribbons: A Blog for Black Women Fighting and Surviving Breast Cancer. It was born out of my personal journey as a patient not seeing very many images of women who looked like me fighting this disease. So, when I became a survivor, I did something about it. This is a space to learn and become empowered with information so we as a community can thrive into survivorship.
